Viluppuram Tour Package 1N/2D

Villupuram district is the headquarters of the district and the state's second-largest district. In 1993, it was derived from the Arcot District of the South. It is bordered on the east and south by Cuddalore District, on the west by Salem and Dharmapuri District, and on the north by Tiruvannamalai and Kancheepuram District.

Tirukkoilur

This is a picnic spot and a place packed with devotion where you have deities of the Vishnu temple in the middle of the river Perumal (Thiruvikarama swami) and the devotional places are Pushpavallithayar and Kabilar under.

Gingee fort

This fort, situated on the three hills, plays a vital role in the historical monuments here. Today, with its temple and granaries, the fort is partly abandoned but still a worthy watch. This place is surrounded by other important locations, such as Kalyana Mahal, Venugopala Swami Temple, Wooden Bridge, Rajagiri Fort Watch Tower, Hanuman Temple, Chakkarakulam, and Chethkulam Pounds, Khan Mosque, Kamalakanni Amman Temple, and Ranganatha Temple.

Then Islam, with Ramanatha Eswarar's temple, and the place where 8000 Jain monks lived, called as, prove their ages. Thalavanur was renowned during the Pallava regiment of those days for itsMalleswaralayam constructed by the Pallava kings. The Pachai Amman temple, which is located on the Pachaimalai known for its medicinal herbs, is another interesting site. The highlight of this place is that from this hill, you get a clear view of the Tiruvannamalai temple tower.

Theerthangarargulula

It is a historic site dating back to the ninth century. The only location in Tamil Nadu is this spot on a hillock where it contains two Jain caverns and a massive boulder filled with the oldest sculptures of all the Theerthangaras exhibited in a large composition.

Fortification Walls

The three inaccessible hills-Krishnagiri, and Rajagiri, interconnect the huge fortification walls of Gingee. In the shape of a triangle, the three hills are displaced, while the main wall linking them is 20 meters thick. The tops of the three hills form impregnable citadels, while many fortifications and gates are found in the inner fort. The largest, about 800 ft. in height and the most inaccessible, is the Rajagiri citadel. The chasm, 20 meters wide, is now connected by a bridge.

Kalyana Mahal

One of the most attractive ruins of the fort is the Kalyana Mahal. It is composed of a square court, surrounded by rooms for the Governors' household ladies. There is a 27-meter-high square tower in the center of this court, made of stone. The tower has a roof that is pyramidal. The rooms in this tower are very similar to the other constructions of Vijayanagar Nayaka elsewhere.

Swamy Temple of Venugopala

The temple, located to the west of the inner gate of the lower citadel, has a remarkable sculpture depicting Lord Krishna playing with two consorts on the flute. A finely polished, wide-smooth slab found in front of the temple is another interesting feature of this temple.

To the Ponds

Outside the lower fort, the road to the Hanuman Temple abounds with temple ponds and many impressive structures. Chakkarakulam and are the two famous ponds in this fort. During the Maratha occupation of the region, towards the end of the 18th century, Raja Shetty built Chettikulam. A platform believed to be Raja Desingh's funeral pyre is to the north of this pond, where his young wife committed Sati.

Temple of Sri Ramanatha Eswarar, Esalam

Founded by Lord Sri Ramanatha Eswarar Rajendra Cholan I (1012). The legend is present in the Sanskrit language and in the character of Grantha. Rajab-Rajanya Makuta Etad Rajendra Cholasyi Carmanah, written on the periphery of the seal, is as follows. On the way to the citadel on Rajagiri Hill, a shrine dedicated to Amman (Goddess Durga), a local deity, is located.

The famous temple of Ranganatha

The Audience Hall is a broken roof supported by a series of elegant little pointed arches, designed in the traditional Indo-Islamic style. A noteworthy structure is also the Magazine building. The famous Rangantha Temple was built in the traditional Vijayanagar style. A large iron cannon, about 4 meters long and 2 meters in diameter, is to the south of the watch-tower. This cannon is very similar to the Malik-1-Maidan of Bijapur in style and shape

Melmalayanur Angalaparameshwari Melmalayanur

The festival takes place here from February to March. The Simimasana is a special feature of this festival. The people attending the festival cook huge amounts of different kinds of grain and place them in the burning ground and give them to the goddess who is brought there. There will be throngs of lakhs of devotees every Ammavasai (New Moon day here.

Thiruvakkarai Thiruvakkarai

The Geological Park has situated approximately 40 km from Viluppuram and 25 km from Puducherry. A national geological park with a significant number of fossil-like petrified tree trunks is situated here. There is a temple founded by a famous Chola queen, Sembiyan Madheviyar, for Lord Shiva. The presiding deities here are Arulmigu Chandramoulisvarar and Tenambikai. Arulmigu Vakkaralingam and Arulmigu Vakkrakali, for whom special prayers are held every full moon, day, and night of the year.

Auroville Auroville

A township international. Just across the Puducherry border in Tamil Nadu, this town of tomorrow, funded and promoted by the Government of India and endorsed by UNESCO, is located in the making. It was launched in 1968 at the behest of the Mother of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, representing an experiment in foreign living, at an inaugural event attended by members of 124 nations and all states of India.

Temple of Venkataramana

This sprawling temple narrates the aesthetic abilities of the Nayaka dynasty with its striking sculptures and carved pillars. This is the largest temple in GINGEE, founded by MuthialuNayaka (1540-1550 A. D). The later time of Vijayanagar. In scenes from the Hindu epics, the temple abounds with gopuras, mandapas, and sculptured panels portraying gods and goddesses. The walls of the Mandapas are also home to several Tamil inscriptions.
