Lithium Ore

Minerals: Spodumene, petalite, and lepidolite are the primary minerals containing lithium in hard rock ores.
Lithium Content: Typically ranges from 1-3% lithium oxide (Li2O).
Grade: Higher grades are generally preferred for economic reasons.
Impurities: The presence of impurities, such as iron, can affect the processing and quality of the final lithium product.
Source: Lithium-rich brines are found in salt lakes, geothermal waters, and underground aquifers.
Lithium Concentration: Concentrations vary widely, but typically range from 0.1% to 3% lithium chloride (LiCl).
Impurities: Other salts, such as sodium chloride (NaCl) and potassium chloride (KCl), are often present in brine.
Recovery: Extraction methods involve evaporation and precipitation to concentrate the lithium.
